Chris Arbenz FCA
Managing Partner

Chris qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1972 and worked in the industry before joining Parker, Challis & Arbenz in 1977. Chris is our specialist in the licenced trade and has a wide knowledge of other businesses and partnership issues. He deals with a large number of business start-ups and is one of our few golfers.

 

 

 

 

 

                                                

Stephen Monk FCA
Corporate Partner

Steve was born in Brighton and then moved to Hove, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Brighton in 1974. He then spent 8 years with Deloittes in both London and Zambia before moving back to Brighton with Grant Thornton and joining us in 1986.

Steve specialises in looking after limited companies and their directors / shareholders, from initial formation and structuring, shareholders’ agreements, fundraising, valuations, mergers and acquisitions and succession planning; and is our principal corporate audit partner.

Steve still plays semi-competitive squash in the winter, substitutes this for tennis during the summer and is a keen motorist, taking part in charity and club track days in his old go faster Saab or newer MX5. He was Chairman of Brighton & Hove Chartered Accountants and a member of the Board of Brighton & Hove Young Enterprise for some years.

 

 

David Jemmett FCA
Partner

David qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Brebner Allen & Trapp in London in 1976 before joining Crouch & Co as a partner in 1983. David is responsible for our personal tax services as well as a large and varied portfolio of clients. He is a keen cricketer and plays for Henfield plus joins in with the odd game of golf. We maintain David's contact with Brebner Allen & Trapp for tax consultancy with their Tim Smith.

 

 

 

 

 

 

                                                

Ricky Patel B.Comm
Associate Partner

After graduating in Accountancy and Business Management in 1966, Ricky subsequently joined a firm of London accountants. He specialises in smaller businesses and works closely with Chris Arbenz. Financial services, business finance, medical accountancy, VAT and tax work are Ricky's professional specialisms. Ricky's interests include bridge, badminton, cricket and tennis.
